We call our rental property Shark Point after the nearby island that shares its name, part of the beautiful archipelago in the Homosassa area. Just like the island itself, Shark Point offers a peaceful escape surrounded by water, sunshine, and adventure, a perfect home base for exploring everything Homosassa has to offer. Inshore fishing is particularly popular, with species like redfish, spotted seatrout, snook, and black drum commonly found in the area's mangrove-lined creeks and grassy flats. Seasonal activities like scalloping add to Homosassa's allure. From July 1 through September 24, the bay scallop season opens in Citrus County, allowing families and recreational divers to harvest these delicacies in the shallow seagrass beds.
